MileHiRadio Interview Jun 8, 2 PM

June 8th, 2011 No comments

With any startup entrepreneur getting your message out to others is paramount, but as with anyone, our business is not the only thing that defines us. We’re a host of lots of things stitched together.

One of those things I am is a USAF veteran of the first Gulf War. I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Lorin Ricker during his “Walk the walk” internet radio program at Mile Hi Radio. It truly was a pleasure and an honor discussing my experience in the USAF as well as discussing how young vets today can create a path through the business market after leaving the service. Besides joining the Veterans of Foreign Wars to associate with other vets, but also to share experiences.

Listen in and enjoy as  I discuss my USAF history, the skills I learned from the USAF that can translate into business, and a little bit about my book. I also put in a plug for a friend of mine, Lida Citroën (Lida360.com), who helps vets in the Wounded Warrior project transitioning to civilian life.

“Walking a walk” Internet Radio Interview 2 PM MDT Wed June 8th

June 6th, 2011 No comments

Got my notification that this Wednesday at 2 PM MDT I’ll be on MileHiRadio.com‘s Internet Radio Show hour long “Walking a walk” talk show, about Vets helping and mentoring other vets. From the web site:

With these conversations, we have the opportunity to pay honor and respect to the great men and women of our U.S. Armed Forces, including active duty, guard & reserves, veterans, and their families — and all the folks and organizations who support them.

No better organization when supporting those that defend our freedoms and values.

Veterans Day: What does it mean to be a Vet?

November 11th, 2010 No comments

A “Veteran” — whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve — is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to “The United States of America,” for an amount of “up to, and including his life.” (author unknown)

How did Veterans Day start? Here’s a link to how it came about.

It is the Soldier, not the minister
Who has given us freedom of religion.
It is the Soldier, not the reporter
Who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the Soldier, not the poet
Who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer
Who has given us freedom to protest.
It is the Soldier, not the lawyer
Who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is the Soldier, not the politician
Who has given us the right to vote.
It is the Soldier who salutes the flag,
Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag,
Who allows the protester to burn the flag.

July 4th: It is the Veteran, not the ….

July 3rd, 2009 No comments

It is the VETERAN, not the preacher, who has given us freedom of religion.

It is the VETERAN, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the VETERAN, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the VETERAN, not the campus organizer, who has given us freedom to assemble.

It is the VETERAN, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the VETERAN, not the business owner, who has given us the freedom to secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity.

It is the VETERAN, not the politician, who has given us the right to vote.

It is the VETERAN, who salutes the Flag.

It is the VETERAN, who serves under the Flag.

It is the VETERAN, who gave his oath to support and defend The Constitution and our nation against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

It is the VETERAN, willing to give his life to protect yours, mine, and others freedoms whose coffin is draped by the flag.
