I took the Myers-Briggs test a number of years ago and tried to get my wife to take it but she was not interested in it a that time. But, a few years back we both took it and when we were finally able to see the results, it was a hilarious moment for the both of us. My wife looked at her results, then mine, then hers, then mine again and stared at them in disbelief. Then she looked straight at me with a shocked look in her face and said “You mean to tell me that you’ve NOT been doing all of those things since we’ve been married for 20 years just to piss me off!!!”
After a brief moment of shock myself, we both quickly starting laughing at the revelation that we both had. All of us are somewhat “hard wired” to do certain things, certain ways, and not much can be done to get rid of how we are.
So, here’s a web site, mypersonality.info, that can help you “find yourself,” and at least put “some structure” to who you are and hopefully reduce the amount of marital, friendship, societal, and social networking stress do a little.
A book that can help is also Strengths Finder by Tom Rath.
The more you know about yourself, the better you can help others.
